Our Pastor & First Lady
Rev. John A. Readout is a locally licensed minister in the United Pentecostal Church International and has been Pastor of the Apostolic Church of Enfield since April 26, 2021. Raised in the church as a “preacher’s kid,” John received the Holy Ghost and was baptized during childhood. He has served as the Assistant Pastor of The Apostolic Church of Enfield, Secretary to the Board, and has held various other positions in the local congregation from Sound Team Director to Senior Pastor’s Assistant while maintaining excellence and leadership in his current secular employment. Rev. John Readout is proud to be husband to the same sweet lady, Sis. Renee Readout, since 2002, and is the father of two wonderful sons.
Sis. Renee Readout, also raised as a “preacher’s kid” served in many positions in her former church until transferring to The Apostolic Church of Enfield when she married Pastor John in 2002. She currently serves not only as our Pastor’s Wife, but as Music Ministry Director, Ladies Ministries Catering Coordinator, and Sunday School Teacher’s Assistant while raising her two wonderful sons.
Bishop Clifford Readout & Rev. Peggy Readout
Rev. Clifford H. Readout, Jr. is an ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church International and has been Pastor of the Apostolic Church of Enfield since December 30, 1978. He has served the Connecticut District UPCI as District Superintendent, Foreign Missions Director, Harvestime Director, and Youth Secretary. Rev. Readout is internationally respected as a Bible teacher, ministering throughout the United States and in over fifty nations from Australia to Iceland. He has ministered extensively on college and university campuses, holding positions of President and Chaplain at Indiana University as well as Director of Campus Ministry for North Central Region of the USA and Canada. He was also the Founding Coordinator of Friendship International, a ministry to college and university students around the world, and serves currently as Special Advisor. Rev. Readout was Director, Dean of Students, and a teacher in the European School of Discipleship in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is the Founder and Director of the Foundations of Life Worldwide Ministry and The Foundations Forum, a Biblical “think tank” and research organization. He was the founding Secretary of the Urshan Graduate School of Theology, a member of the Board of Trustees, and now holds the title of Trustee Emeritus. Rev. Readout is the founder and chairman of the Apostolic Leadership Institute and is a “Genuine AllExperts Expert” volunteer, rated “Best of the Best.” Rev. Readout is proud to be husband to the same wonderful lady since 1970, father of three college graduates, and one delightful Down Syndrome son born in 1994.
Rev. Peggy Readout is an ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church International. She serves as Executive Assistant for and wife of the pastor of The Apostolic Church of Enfield, CT. Sis. Readout is our director of Ladies Ministries. Previously, she served 13 years as the Connecticut District Ladies Ministries President and 2 years as the Regional UPCI Ladies Ministries Director for the Northeast. She is our Sunday School Superintendent, and previously taught the Preschool Sunday School class for 7 years and the Teen and Youth classes for 6 years. Before moving to Connecticut, Sis. Readout was the Pastor’s confidential secretary at the East 16th Street Pentecostal Assembly in Bloomington, Indiana, and was also a teacher and staff member in the church’s Cherry Hill Day Care Center. She was involved in Campus Ministry work at Indiana University and was an instructor as well as the Dean of Women at the European School of Discipleship in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Sis. Readout’s work in the ministry has taken her to over forty nations and throughout the United States. She has authored articles for the Pentecostal Herald and Reflections Magazine and publishes the Women In Touch Communique for the Ladies Ministries UPCI. Sis. Readout is an instructor at the Apostolic Leadership Institute and has performed every ministry required for the success of this congregation while raising four children who are all active members of the church today.
